Our BnB is a house built in 1850, situated in the historical centre of a dutch monument village called Amerongen, a picturesque little place with several pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The house was previously owned by the Bentinck family, a long line of nobles, who had Amerongen Castle in their posession since the 17th century. In 1970 it became privately owned. The new owners restored the building to its original state.
In 2009 we bought the house and added modern comforts, without losing the original authentic details. On entering our cottage, it feels like stepping into the 19th century!
There is a glimpse of the Amerongen Castle, which you can visit, with its beautiful grounds. Leaving the front door, it is only a 100 metre walk to our beautiful nature reserve on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, where one can see flocks of geese, wild horses and Galloway cows roaming freely.
Placed in the centre of the Netherlands, only 80 kilometres from Amsterdam, we are perfectly located to get the full Dutch experience!
We have no strict arrival times, and you can check in at any time. To book, use our online form, leaving a contactable telephone number!
